I plan on adding an additional fish sometime in mid January. Want to research it now though.

Here are the fish I am considering:

    • Firefish (missionsix66 suggestion)
    • Wrasse (liking the fairy wrasse right now)
But I am wide open to other suggestions too.

    Pertinent info:
I have 2 Osc clowns. 1 Royal Gramma.

    Full compliment of hermits/snails.
I have crushed coral, not sand (personal preference).

I'm adding my skimmer this weekend!!!!! hurray!

I do not have algae issues - so don't want a lawnmower blenny or anything like that.

No lid on tank (one clown has already jumped once, but I saw it and he is safe)

Don't want anything that will outgrow the tank or mess with the coral (of which I have none yet).

Lastly, I don't want a delicate fish. I don't have enough experience yet and I do not have a QT. In fact, everything is HOB.

    Thanks!

    I second the firefish suggestion...

Also, perhaps a hector goby...not too sure if they are hardy or not though...

I'm a big fan of wrasses and not so much of firefish as everyone I've known to have them has had issues with them launching out of the tanks

    Missed the open top portion...

Yeah...I've read they are jumpers...did you consider egg crate or are you always going to run open top?

For the foreseeable future, always open. I don't like the look of egg crate.

How about a dwarf angel? Coral Beauty, Flame, or Lemonpeel?

Dwarf angels are hit or miss with regards to coral well being.

I think the wrasse is a good choice...also think you should look into getting a yellow clown goby :) Cool little guys...they have them at our LFS here in houston...Aquarium World.

this is true, but IMO worth a shot though...

firefish are very shy and of course sth i learned the hard way, they like to jump.
