Do you prefer to have your ACTINICS in the back and the WHITES to the front of your light fixture? Or does it really matter.

Most people will try to blend, well that is if you have multiple bulbs such as T5, otherwise if it is a PC or MH setup it doesn't really matter.
What type of lighting are we talking?

It won't matter unless your tank is really wide.

It doesn't really matter, it's all personal preference. It looks better blended to me - more balanced.

Right now its a JBJ 48" PC retrofit kit I got for free. I installed it my canopy until I can figure out what T5 retrofit kit I should buy. I am not sure if I should go with a retrofit kit or a set on top fixture, My canopy is only 7" tall.

Actually it does matter because if you put the white lights in the front, you will have more algae growing on the front glass and sand instead of on the rocks and the back of the tank.

I always put the 10,000K lights in the very back or towards the back half of the tank

Is 12k Whites ok or should I go with 10k?
