Just thought I would finally jump in and say hello and thank you for all the advice given. I have learned a lot from all and hope to contribute, myself someday to help someone else. So much to learn and so much to read, you all keep it interesting. Our tank is a 55 tall , 40 lbs ls, 65 lbs of lr, 1 yellow tang 1 blue and yellow damsel
    1 beautiful clown
    2 cleaner shrimp
    1 peppermint shrimp
    1 sea urchin
    1 bta
    1 sandsifting star
1 flowerpot coral (I know, I now read before i adopt) 5 months and still growing tho, just beautiful. reaches for the sky with lights on and almost to nothing at lights out.
I wish that urchin would leave my purple alone. grrrrrrrrr! but he is too cool.
thanks for listening rrr... i mean reading

    Hello,
I too learned the hard way about the flower pot. (one of my wife's impulse buys) :) I dug out 3 or 4 urchins and chunked them into the garbage, They look neat until you run into them enough times diving a reef that has been over run by them.
    Enjoy

About a year, then it closed up and never reopened. I have read some articles where people have luck feeding them, but thats for a different thread :)

    Welcome to 3reef!
Question regarding your flowerpot(Goniopora). They are very hard to keep and require very intense lighting... What and how much light do you have?

Lighting is coralife pcs 2x65 50/50 . Seems like i did get the skimmer right tho.... just lookin around (aqua c). I have a story behind the lighting and the flowerpot, but will find a place on the board to put that.
