For those prices, it's not even a question, do the 150w MH.

 

I know, they are absolutely unbeatable. And the thing is (so far), they all have great reviews! so i am very satisfied with all of these that i found

 

I went ahead and bought it. Its not every day that you see deals like this and i just like this fixture. My question is, does anyone have any ideas on how to hang this puppy from the ceiling?

 

First of all, on what size tank are you using this on? I hope the sizes match, because too much light for a small aquarium is stressful on fish.

 

Its going on a 22 cadlight. I just wanna hang it because i think it would look silly for those legs that hold the light up to be stretched 24". its meant to i just dont think it would look to good. Shimmer effect here i come!! HA

 

IMO I wouldn't go with any of these setup. If you are serious about the health and growth of your corals, go with a better setup. I made that same mistake and ended up wasting quite a bit of money that could be spent on livestock. Do some more research and find something that will be worth it in the long run. I know the prices for both of these companies are hard to beat, but in this hobby you get what you pay for unless you are lucky to stumble across a deal on a good setup

 

Which setup did you get in the first place that you"wasted quite a bit of money"? Any other comments anyone? So if i were to get the 70 watt instead, would i be able to keep all corals? i assume it doesnt fall under your category of waste of money because it was originally 219. I can chose the color temp of the bulb as well. Does this look any better?

I dont get why most people just assume that the bulbs, ballast, and everything that comes with it is just crap when they never even had the fixture. But the people who did have the fixture, said almost the opposite.

 

i guess i have until the end of today to make my mind up so try to convince me into what you believe! all of you!

You see one side of me says, GET THE 150! its only 100 bucks +shipping, it has actinics and it will look really good. But the other side says its a crap light, everything needs to be replaced and its not worth it and to get the 70 watt. As i think of the 70 watt i think its really quality and is very compact and in fact will look good on my tank because i can hang it from the ceiling. But then i would need actinics to add on (which i have, but take up more room) And after i think of that, i think of JUST GET THE 150! it comes with actinics, no worries! and then the cycle goes on. forever haha. please help
