OK - thanks for everyone's help. The larger of my two clowns developed a small whitish spot near the tail. I noticed it yesterday. Now today, there are two. Can't get a good pic. My LFS is closed today. Am I safe for today? :uneasy:

Sounds like she's getting ick. Hard to tell 100% without a picture, but thats probably what it is.

If she is acting normally, not laboring to breath, no cloudy eyes etc. you will be fine for the day. Check all the parameters including SG and try to rule out stress as a cause.

What's the size of the spot? Do you see the clown scratching him self in the substrate or rocks?

HI, Not sure on the stress issue. The tank runs about 80°F so there is a bet that I am having some cooling at night. The new development is that the two small spots are now more like a fuzzy blob - kind of cottony. I put in a touch of garlic - one drop. I also did a fresh water dip. Thats when I noticed the cottony appearence. I was told by my LFS to possibly take her out and set her on wet paper towel and very gently try to scrape of what could now ne a fungus. She is active and I don't see her rubbing on anything but the frog spawn.
