another request for red slime help

I have some red slime in the refugium with no signs of it in the DT.. Its been there for last 3 weeks.. Being new I didnt realize this could get out of control at an alarming rate as I have read. I started using a turkey baster and some suction tubing to get it out and having some difficulties getting it all out.. There is a little on the glass and some on the bottom as well as some live rock.. I have 2 containers of chemiclean that a friend gave me but do not have the scoop to measure a dose if I go that route..

Should I hold off and see if the red slime goes away or go forward with treating it with chemiclean.? Anyone know how much the scoop holds?

 

I'd hold off before doing that and watch. I've had some cyano problems in the past. My fuge got really bad for a bit, then cleared up. I still have a little bit here and there in the fuge. But I figure its better in there than the DT.

 

My fuge too has been loaded with red slim. At first I was freaked out but as time passes and I see NOT a trace of it in my DT, I'm beginning to relax. It's had no negative effects on my chaeto aside from slowing it's growth down a bit and no effects on my pod population at all.
It started when I changed from a 13" 18w cf to a 13" 24w cf. Otherwise I've done nothing different.
Having said this I would say, do some manual removal as I do at times and then just let it be.
