After spending a great deal of time reading skimmer review, I'm no closer to knowing which one to buy than before:confused:

I am setting up my wifes tank, a 40 breeder with a 20 gal sump. I posted on my local reef board for a skimmer, and here is what I have been offered so far:
    New in box Marineland 100 - $100
    Coralife super skimmer 65 - $45

Are either of these worth having, or should I just suck it up and buy a Reef Octopus 110? I'd like to keep the price under $150. I have an Aqua C Remora Pro on my tank and it does a great job, but for her tank it has to be an in sump model.
    Thanks
    DJ

I would just suck it up. A skimmer is something not to be cheap on. Go for quality.

I wish they made an in-sump version of the remora.... Wonder why they don't.... it is a very good skimmer.
