Ok, so I've been on 3reef for awhile now just soaking in all the vast amount of knowledge you people have, and let me tell you it has been amazing. I started off with saltwater when my girlfriend got me a 10 gal tank for x-mas. I started with an ocellaris and a purple firefish, unfortunately neither are with me today. Over the summer I upgraded to a Biocube 29 and have been battling an algae and detritus bloom since. So I figured it was about time to start my own thread. Unfortunately I don't have any fish right now, just lost my clownfish not too long ago. I'm just going to stick with what I have right now until I can get the algae and detritus under control. Enjoy the pics!

    Here are a few pics:

Thanks. It's still a work in progress. Being a full time student, it's a little slow, but moving nonetheless.

Well, I kind of got tied up in all of the other threads and neglected my own. So, here's a run down as to what's been going on with my tank:

    • Moved to my house in Rolla and had to use tap water for awhile. Big mistake! I think with it being an old house, I got copper in the water or something else. Lost everything.
    • Had a massive gha bloom from the tap but got it under control with some water changes, phosphate remover, and RO water.
    • Started building the tank back up. Got a Koralia 1 and then a new T5 fixture.
    • Open top meant more evap so I did a DIY ATO system.
    • Had to leave tank for a couple of weeks for X-mas and had a clown jump and a goby that's MIA.
    • Upgraded equipment w/ another Koralia 1, Internal Skimmer, and a Rio 1400 pump
    • Have been slowly adding corals since Oct. Complete list is in my sig.
    • Going stable now and everything is doing great.

I'll attach some updated pics as soon as they get uploaded to photobucket. Some have been in other threads but everyone likes pics don't you.

Thanks, I'm very pleased with the results as well. Now it's just the long wait as the corals grow out.

Oh wow, I haven't updated this thread in almost a year. Man has my tank gone through some changes. I've done various other threads about new additions but I guess I need to start keeping up with this one. Well a picture is worth a thousand words so I'll just let the pics speak for themselves, some growth shots and various others:
