And so it commences, the transfer of everyone from the old BC29 to my new 40B is finally under way. Turns out the test kit was old and my params were actually spot on. Now that I think about it, the kit was over two years old. I was wondering where the ammonia was coming from seeing as the majority of the water came from water changes from an established system and so did a portion of the LR. Pictures to come later tonight.

Well here are some pics. Not the best looking right now, everybody is still all closed up and the water is a little cloudy from stirring up the sand during the upgrade but you get the general idea of everything.

Looks fantastic, nice job!! i really like the overflow design, seems to be getting popular, why did you go with a 40b if you dont mind me asking? looks like you put alot of time, into it, are you planning on staying in that size for awhile?

Thanks, I really liked the dimensions of the tank, long and deep but shallow at the same time. Plus it was only $40. I plan on sticking with this size for awhile most likely until I get a permanent house of my own most likely, my tiny apt doesn't have the room for a big tank right now.

Thanks for the LED pics. I'm working on engineering my own right now.

I believe they are about 8-10" above the water level. Would have to pull out the ruler to double check.

Here are some more shots from today including some shots of the sump/fuge. Everything is looking much better and fully open for the most part.
