Resplendant Anthias - Female is lying on the substrate gasping. Received her in the mail Thursday from Livaquaria.com. Acclimated by drip method 2 hours before releasing into the tank. Woke up from a nap around 4 pm today and she was on the ground.

Are they Expired?: No date but I picked 'em up about 6 months ago so I'm gonna start replacing them I guess

    Tank size is 55 gal
Estimated total system? 55 gal with 10 gallons in the sump and all the live rock

    Current inhabitants:
    1 - Resplendant Anthias
    1 - 6 Line Wrasse
    1 - Cinnamon Clown
    1 - Colt Coral? about 8"
    1 - Open Brain Coral about 3"
    15 - Mushrooms
    1 - Bubble Tip Anenome
    2" colony of Star Polyps
1 - Frogspawn colony about half a tennis ball

    Clean up crew:
3 - small blue leg hermits
2 - red leg hermit crabs
    2 - nassarius snails

Tank has been up about 14 months,

    Substrate: 2" live sand

    About 50 - 60 lbs Live Rock
    Did you recently add some?
1 piece, 8 lbs about 4 weeks ago.

    Filtration:
Hang on back overflow, Berlin system with ETSS Sump Buddy 40 in a DIY Sump tank using a 20 gal long.

Do you wet or dry skim? Still playing with it trying to get a dry foam

    Lighting:
Current Outer Orbit 48" Dual Compact fluorescent: Dual Actinic 420/460, Dual Daylight with 2 LED blue Lunar Lights
    About 1 yr old

    Feeding:
One cube frozen mysis shrimp once a day, defrosted and placed in the anemone. Spread the leftovers on both sides of the tank for the fish and others. Kent Zoeplex and DT's every other day.

    Water change schedule.
    10 percent every 2 weeks
I buy my water from my LFS (Pet Land)

Kent Trace Elements on the weeks off weeks of water change.

Using a Mag 9.5 with a SCWD so I'm guessing around 750 gph flow

Also, I flushed a regal tang yesterday because she was sucked up against the overflow while we were at work and I'm sure the stress was just too much for her. She had no spots or other physical signs of injury.

Good thing they have a guarantee for that website. Sounds like you got a fish to flush. Sorry.

is it possible that it was bullied by other inhabitants perhaps the cinamon clown?

some other notes about your tank:
i wouldnt worry about doseing trace elements as long as you have a resonable water change schedule and especially not since you dont have alot of corals. over time i would worry about the the traces building up

a regal tang will be to big for the tank when it matures, i wouldnt recommend any tang for the long term in under a 75, for a regal i would say atleast a 90

Yeah, doesn't sound good. Doesn't sound like you did anything wrong really either.

Do a 30% water change. Theres not much you can do when a fish is that weak. You can give it some selcon soaked food which has B12 and Vitamin C in it. That should give the fish some instant energy.

Also your salinity is unusually low. Mine is always @ 1.025.

Do you use RO/DI water and what kind of salt do you use?

Well... ok. Thanks for the quick response. I just wish I knew what happened. I seem to have the worst luck with fish, but corals are no problem. As for the salinity being low, I was keeping it low to try and reduce any stress while the sump and skimmer get good and broken in.

the salinity maybe a bit low for a reef but its with in reason, the lfs near me runs theyre fish stock tanks at that salinity to help the fish deal with the stress.
