I have 2 anthias might be tuka or purple queen. Been in tank for about 2 weeks haven't lost any weight. I've been feeding frozen baby brine and mysis and live brine. They chase food when it's added to tank and open their mouths like they are eating but I don't see any food in front of them. Could it be the baby brine you can't really see them when they go in.

I know these are finicky fish and I wish I had done more research, but I'm doing all I can to keep them alive. Feeding multiple times per day is no issue but I don't know what they are eating.

Any suggestions on what else to try?[IMG]

Try feeding them some Cyclops... My anthias go bonkers for the stuff!

+1 cycopeeze mixed in with other foods... training them to eat cyclops along with other food may condition them to readily accept foods other than cyclops...

Also, you may try turning the pumps off when you feed for a little while, if you're not doing so already... I find this helps finicky eaters get to food that they may otherwise ignore.

Mysis is good, but brine shrimp is not the most nutritional thing you can feed your fish... I REALLY like mysis and "marine cuisine" by SFBB foods.

They can go for awhile on pods alone - make sure you have a big supply! Like Gambit said, try Cyclopeeze. You can try garlic too. Just keep putting the food in there. Hopefully they will get hungry enough to eat. My male anthias didn't eat for 3 weeks when he was new and now he eats everything and is fat, fat, fat! You could try bloodworms, my anthias love those as a treat.

Continue shooting the food into the high flow - anthias love to chase their food. Mine only eat from the current.

They could be eating small pieces you can't see too.

    Good luck!!

I have been able to find frozen cyclops but have had no luck finding the cyclopeeze. Would it be worth a try? I have marine cuisine but there not big on it

I bought the gel cyclopeeze drone instant ocean but it's gross and leaves a nasty film on the water and no one touches it.

I use the cyclopeeze drone by IO and my fish love it. But every fish is not alike. I use reef nutrition and my anthias goes crazy over it. But anthias do like to chase their food.

Do you get just plain cyclops.

What to feed really want my question, when they are like biting at nothing could they be eating baby brine or something small I'm not seeing?

I use Freeze Dried CyclopsEeze, or Oceans Nutrition Frozen Cyclops. They all love both.
