what and how many would be a good canidate for a reef tank?

    deminsions are 48x18x21

these are some other fish that I want in there:
    x2 fire fish
    x2 misbar clowns
    x1 manderin
    x1 tail spot blenny
    x5 blue green reef chromis

filtration is a nac3 skimmer, uv light, reactor with either GAC or bio-pellets, fuge with DSB.

1 Male Fathead Anthias (Serranocirrhitus latus). Very neat fish, weird personality. Don't play well with others of its kind. You could also do a trio of Bartlett's or Lyretails...but that might be pushing the limits.

a trio sounds cool but the lyretails need a 125 or bigger the barletts would work though

    I have a trio of blotched anthias in a 55. They're 3 or 4 years old now.

A single lyretail female in another 55 for 6-8 years.

Red saddled in a 24g JBJ nano with an orange spotted filefish, 3-4 years.

Sunburt in a 30.... 2 years? Something like that. I'm not very good at guessing time.

So, there are indeed some nice options for your 75 :)

I know someone who had 5 anthias in a 90, they did very well (but died of velvet which was unrelated to the tank size) I will say, that when they get full grown, they need a new home, or the anthias pd will arrest you.

11 fish seems easily possible with good filtration, although the chromis may kill each-other off. Consider wrasse too.

thought of the wrasse they just dint have the pop that the anthis do IMO, plus the wrasse that i like are way more money than the anthis LOL

I am thinking 1-3 of these Dispar Anthias (Pseudanthias dispar) or Ignitus Anthias (Pseudanthias ignitus)

so at full stock there would be a total of 14 fish, if not then a total of 12. I really like the ignitus more and they stay smaller by half an inch.

the chromis should be ok from what i have read but there is a 75/25 split on the sucess of the chromis so i may reduce the number to three but as of yet I am undecided on that.

Trade 4 Chromis for maybe three smaller Anthias like Bartlet's or Ignitus.

thinking and really liking the 3 ignitus.

    so w/o the chromis

    x2 fire fish
    x2 misbar clowns
    x1 manderin
    x1 tail spot blenny
    x3 ignitus

totaling 9 fish total inches would be right around 21.5 inches

any thoughts on one more good and diffrent edition, wrasse mabey?????
