I also enjoy eating good food, cooking good food, but the growing the food you eat and cook is really cool.

It sure is. Plus we cook with a lot of herbs at my house. Each store bought pack of fresh herbs is like 3.50 a container. You can save a ton of money and eat well if you grow as much as you can.

Gardening is very soothing, and I get a good tan from it too.

I would love to have chickens, but my dogs would go crazy. A neighbor sells fresh eggs that are basically organic, not certified organic but that costs $$ to get certified.

    I planted some peppers today.
we have a sandbox so I dug a hole like a foot deep and then added planting soil. Had to add the chicken wire, too many Bunny's and squirrels would eat the leaves without it.

we got yellow bell peppers on the left and red chili peppers on the right. :)

Empty out the entire sandbox and you could have a nice raised garden. I hope your plants do well, its nice to see them grow.

Or empty out half the sand box, mix it up with peat soil or peat moss, where it's about 50/50, then plant a carnivorous plant garden :D
