I bet they were just sleeping. All fish change color when sleeping. Most get pale, some will get darker

When my yellow tang is sleeping he has a big dark spot in the middle of his body.

I've also seen my tang turn from bright yellow to almost white, but it didn't last more than a day - Its probably just a bit stressed

IMO the fish are going to have to reacclimate to the system. You put on a great skimmer which is bringing out the impurities that the fish are used to having and living in. Coupled with just waking them up, you saw the worst of it. So just let them get used to their new system and go with it. IMO, it is just a waiting game.

Get a ground probe ASAP. Stray voltage is a real concern also. The kind you plug into the wall, not the kind with the little eye connector.

what do you mean with the eye connoctor? I went and got one from the store asap today and it plugs in and has an I connoctor. Did I buy a pos? I never realized about this and went to three stores today to find one.

This is the kind you want to get:
    Titanium Ground Probe
As for the loss of color, it's normal. My 4 striped damsel looks like a white damsel near the 1am hour after the light has been off for several hours.
