Ha, your first post cracked me up. I felt the same way until this this year. Ah how bad could it be right? I now have them ridiculously bad, it does feel like a steady head cold. I have been taking Allegra D non drowsy its been working as long as i take it like every 20 hours instead of 24.

Oh very good I actually have some steroid eye drops that are still good, I got them for another problem but I will break them out. Thank you so much.

I just find it so odd that I never ever had an issue and now in my 40's I am struck down with this nasty affliction.

Allergy sufferers have may deepest sympathy now.

Have you tried prescriptions meds or just OTC? What ones did you try? I've been on zrytec for about 17 years. Ya gotta take it daily or it doesn't work. It's not one of those you can just take when the allergies come on. I haven't had any side effects with this one and usually I'm the 1% with weird reactions. No nappage urges with this one.

I have absolutely horrible allergies. And right now, I'm dying. Cats have ruined my life and I have to wear a mask when cleaning the house. I have great lung capacity as I have learned to make my way through Macy's while holding my breath :) (which also comes in handy as a nurse passing through "common areas" and the long emergency room).

Maybe I should go for the shots. I've had the testing done, but that was while I lived in Canada. I'm sure they test for some different regional things here. I gave my dog shots for a couple of years. It helped with her allergies.

I am serious about the hair dryer thing- I learned this from Dr. Wallace Duff. He uses these heat lamps in his office- it really does work.

Also, I did the shot thing previously mentioned about 12 years ago when all this crap started, I was 35 then, it worked for a while then the damn alergies came back.

Mine got so bad I was getting shot's of Immatrex (spl?), but they have subsided as I have gotten older, but when it gets windy- man, it gets tough.

    I feel for ya.

I am thinking some wasabi, followed by by a tuna role. lol

I do not think I have tried Allegra D I will look into it. Thanks, you have my deepest sympathies. :)

I have tried so many in the last month I can not even keep track but they were all OTC. Claritin made me act like I was having a stroke. Slurred speech and such, so that is out.

Maybe my body is saying go back to CA, well any excuse will do actually, who I am kidding.

    Thanks Incognito.

I will try the hair dryer for sure.

Imitrex is out, it makes my heart go pitter patter, and not in a good way.

    :)

Yea it did that to me the first time I was given it- I thought I was gonna pass out- they lowered the dose and it works pretty well.

Scared the hell out of me.

BTW, there is a stuff called nasacort (spl?) it works pretty good to.

My sinuses can get so clogged that my ears clog up and I walk like a drunk. Neti-pots are EXTREMELY useful. I also eat wasabi or horseradish until my nose is running like niagra falls. Something that I've read about is eating honey that is organically grown (FROM THE AREA OF TOWN THAT YOU LIVE IN). Supposedly, you are given immunity to the types of pollens in your area. (Mind you, I haven't tried this nor researched it....only read about it)

i had really bad allergies as a teen living on my grandparents farm in eastern Ontario. every morning Meuti (mommy in german) would come to my room with a pot of boiling water with fresh camomile and peppermint in it. she would then sit me at the nightstand with the tea and drape a towel over my head so that my sinuses got a steam bath.

currently i live in the city and its not nearly as bad but i do get seasonal allergies. my current solution is to chew that overpoweringly minty/spicy gum. toss in a piece and and try to exhale it thru your nose. i guess this works on the same principal as the the spicy/hot food...i just cant bring myself to eat wasabi at work.

also note there is no cure, you just deal and eventually the symptoms lessen until it is a minor inconvenience.

    Good luck!

    Good luck
