Well I've been depressed as of late because I got denied from the school I wanted to transfer to for computer engineering. The school I will be attending in the fall is still fairly new and they don't have an engineering department yet. So I wanted to jump into the hardware side of computing on my own and ordered an Aruduino Uno, an electronics book, and some little gizmos.

Does anyone on here play around with any of the Arduino boards?

I searched through some threads from last year or later of people working on DIY reef controllers using the Arduino, any of you guys have luck with the project?

I think ReefAngel is Arduino based, could definitely be wrong though.

It does use almost the same exact chip as the board I got though. Could be interesting building my own controller since ReefAngel provides some code online. No idea if it is just part or all of it.

Yeah its the same thing. I would hit up their forums because they have code libraries and thing you can cannibalize for your project. As a computer guy I think you will have a ton of fun. My profession entails dealing out ancient knowledge with my fists so sometimes i get a little frustrated with figuring the code out lol.

Hahaha, I'm guessing you are some sort of martial arts instructor?

My wife has a black belt in Taekwondo (spelling?) and is not too computer savvy. So when stuff is not working, violence and the throwing of stuff usually entails.
