Ah, I've been using a coffee filter over the lens.

I actually have not been able to take a good actinic shot. I don't know if I'm just using the wrong WB or settings. All I get are oversaturated shots that do not look good at all. I don't know how people get good actinic shots, I am curious to find out myself.

Wonder if it's a colored lens filter? I can't really find anything online. I've been trying all different types of custom white balance......

Annick helped you with the above links – give them a read.

I scuba dive with a Rebel XTI – I set the white balance using sand, I re-set the balance at each 20 foot depth change. Absent of sand I bring a white board with me that is set 5 inches in front of the lens. I don’t always shot in raw mode since compiling the data is time consuming and requires software. So I generally shoot in auto – but when I find an incredible shoot I switch to manual and set as I see fit and also shoot one in auto….thus far the auto is unsurpassed by my manual intervention (at least underwater).

Yes ma'am I have thousands but not many here at work.

I am uncertain if these are shot with my Rebel, or one of three other I shoot underwater with. The octo shot is taken off of high definitiion video that I shoot....HD vid's scuba diving are great !

The picture where i am looking up -- how deep do you suppose that was shot?

Wow. Awesome shots. You should definitely start a thread with more of your dive pics. We'd love to see them.

I have no idea how deep you were so I'm just going to guess 60 feet or so? :D
