Hey I have a 20 gallon nano, I'm just curious if there are any nano safe eels? I heard snow flakes only get around 10-12 inches, but I'm thinking that might still be to big?

saw some garden eels recently at my LFS I think they grow a little over a foot but they are tough to care for. They're fairly small and need to be fed lots and frequently I think: Saltwater Aquarium Fish for Marine Aquariums: Garden Eel

I think the type of eels you want might be those suited for only larger tanks as they grow fast and eat lots. I'd think any nano tank would not be enough room and they'd foul the water up easy too.

    1. Only the smallest fish would be at harm IIRC. There are a couple people on nano reef that have them.
    2.About a foot long.

Snowflakes can get 2-3 feet in length.

I second the golden dwarf eel. Cool looking eel, but pricey. They are only $100 in Hawaii LFS' though... maybe you could get one of them to ship directly to you.

I found one at my lfs that doesnt get bigger then 14 inches, called a viper moray, he is apparently yellow, so I think they might have made a improper ID on him, but $65 so thats closer to what I'd like to spend, I'm not seeing anything online that looks like him though, he was just a yellowish color, and 14" or less at full grown, lol I hate when people cant ID properly or use common names cause that could be any number of species still

Would he be ok in a 20? or is that too small, I have seen videos on youtube, but I know some of those people dont follow the rules haha, Basically I'm looking for a stock list or stocking suggestions, I have A young ocellaris right now, as well as an emerald crab, 2 hermit crabs(scarlets) one asternia snail (spelling sorry) and a peppermint shrimp, any other suggestions? I'm thinking a 6 line wrasse or maybe in a few month once my tank is matured a green spotted target mandarin but am unsure
