Just saw it cruising Live Aquaria and it's probabally the most beautiful fish I've ever seen. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with it, what size tank (Live Aquaria says minimum 125, then later something about aquatiums 75 gallons or more), if you've kept it off corals, and if it's very territorial. I'm not going to rush and throw one in my tank, just need opinions.

LOL One of these and a banana wrasse had a permanent home in the QT warehouse. They would jump from tank to tank and kill anything smaller than them when they were in the store. Pick tank mates wisely.

I would steer clear of any thassaloma wrasses in a reef tank. They will eat any fish they can fit in their mouths, as well as shrimp, and from what I have seen froma very large lunare wrasse they eat snails too.

Ugh, why do the pretty ones have to be such terrors? Them, Harlequin Tusks, and a bunch of FO Wrasses. We need to domesticate them and bend their natural instincts to fit our will. :)

FWIW, even live aquaria has some halichoeres wrasses listed as FO and not reef safe when in reality all halichoeres wrasses are reef safe, at worst eating some tube worms and featherdusters. Take a look at the christmas wrasse, the radinat wrasse if you can find one, and a melanurus wrasse. Those are all pretty and reef safe.

Oh yeah, I remember seeing that and wondering why it wasn't considered reef safe when I've seen many members have it.

My guess on the halichoeres wrasses is that they will eat some things that people would consider valuable parts of a reef, like polychaete worms/feather dusters and possibly some other small stuff.

And that is all I can think of either.
