I'm 36, so I think that I might be the oldest gamer to post here so far.

I started playing games on the Commodore 64 in grade school, and then on my friend's Atari 2600, Intellivision, and Atari 5200. The first "console" that I actually owned was some plug into the TV tank battle game that I can't even remember the name of. LOL

I then had a Colecovision, NES, Sega Genesis, PS One (which I got on the first day it came out, but that was accidental), PS 2, X-Box, Game Cube, X-Box 360, PS3. I also have a Nintendo DS (that is really my daughter's right now), and a PSP Go. Over the years, I even owned a Sega Game Gear.

I use mainly Apple computers at home, but I do keep a relatively good gaming laptop around to play some of my favourite PC games.

When I was a kid, my mom could afford to get me the occasional console, but other than that I'd only get one or two games at Christmas, and one on my birthday. Towards the end of the Colecovision's life cycle, a local video store did start renting games. I remember being excited to rent "Time Pilot" because I loved playing it in the arcade. LOL

Now I'm more of a game collector. LOL I have two small kids, and rarely have time to play anymore. However, I still have this compulsion to buy games that I want, even though I have no clue when I will get around to playing them. I think it goes back to when I was a kid, and getting games was a rare event. I'd see one I wanted in the store in August, and know that I had to wait until Christmas to get it (assuming there weren't 12 other good titles to choose from by then). Now that I can afford them, the compulsion just kicks in.... almost like with corals. LOL

I usually go to the gym every night after the kids are in bed. I try to fit in an hour or two of gaming before I go to bed, instead of watching TV. VERY rarely, I can fit in a several hours long marathon playing session.

Currently, I'm having fun with borderlands on the PS3, and Bioshock 2 on the 360. I tend to gravitate towards games that I can just pick up and play for an hour or so now, and not get too sucked into. My favourite genre is probably strategy gaming on the PC, but what a time sink that can be. Just one more turn, just one more turn, just one more turn..... what???? The sun is coming up? How did that happen?? LOL

I'm about 40 minutes into GOW III so far its scale is amazing and the graphics are some of the best I've seen. Really want to pic up FFX13. There are so many good games coming out though, ill have to weigh my options. Really want to get Red Dead Redemption when it comes out too.

Currently playing Heavy Rain and FF13. Both have incredible graphics, Heavy Rain has a very engaging story but is kind of depressing. As far as MMO's go I play Lord of the Rings Online. Played WoW for 4 years and I try to play it occasionally but am just so burnt out on it I can barely play it.

I'll be gaming till I die. I just better make darn sure my kids won't beat me at my own games.

I still have a Colecovision, Atari 2600, NES with R.O.B., SNES, Genesis, Game Gear and even the 3DO. Older games had much, much better playability for the fact that the difficulty made up where the graphics lacked.

My first PC game was "Alley Cat" on IBM's PCjr.

I'm kind of curious how you like Oblivion. I thought it was good but I preferred all of the guild missions compared to the oblivion gates. I only did a few oblivion gates before I got bored with those. I still own the game so I can go back and play sometime but let me know what you thought of the main story.

Hells yeah. I mostly play fps. While mw2 and bfbc2 are fun to play at friends houses I will never buy them. Frack Infinity Ward and Activison. While I like destroying inanimate objects like walls in bc2, it doesnt make up for the fact that the maps went down from 64 to 24 players. So I'm still stuck playing bf2 with a little bit of lfd2 thrown in for zombie fun.

Too many Leroy Jenkins in rpg world for me.
