My diamond watchman went carpet surfing last night, dang it. Didn't take him long, either, maybe three weeks or so.

I really liked that fish. He did such an awesome job keeping the sand clean. :-/

    bristle worms or conch.

i dont like sand stars as they eat every living creature in your sand and then can starve to death. i dont like narcissus snails as they have to be fed since they dont eat algae or detritus(strictly meat for them)

I own 2 olive snails and they sift the sand pretty good in my 75 gallon. And when you feed the tank its cool to see them come out of the sand,

Get another Diamond Goby and put some eggcrate on top of the tank. They are the best at cleaning the sand.

Our first goby (aurora goby) also went carpet surfing after a few weeks. We've had a yellow watchman goby now for several months. Both were paired with the same pistol shrimp. I guess it's just a chance you take. We're hoping that since we've had the same fish for awhile and everything in the tank is stable, the goby will stay put! The goby and the pistol shrimp turn over most of the sand bed, a section at a time. Good luck!
