    So im in a little problem, my coach brings up that i have to be 137Lbs and below for a match tomorrow due to one of our starters being sick..I weighed out after practice 137.4(which is over weight). I weighed in 139.6 and i am wondering what is the best way to keep weight off the entire day tomorrow and tonight? i have not eatin anything so far and the match tomorrow is at 6 or 7pm..

    I am on the verge of starvation as of right now and would like to eat, but if i cant, then i will survive..If anyone could give me a good tip or two that would be great.

    you wont want to do a match while your starving, theres nothing worse than being on the verge of starvation when your working your butt off at any sport. just eat. but try to hold off on food a few hours before the match.

    I know that, we eat about an hour before the match after weigh ins. So ill have some energy, but i will have to keep weight below 137 all day 2marow.

    alright heres the deal, ive wrestled my entire life, and im in love with it but due to a bad hip from it, and 2 blown out knees, the way i always cut weight is to go into a room, and put as much sweat pants, and sweatshirts on as you own and just grapple, now the key is if you have a heater in the room, CRANK IT, its very bad for you but as soon as your done just make sure you are drinking water, not alot tho b/c that can make you gain it right back... when is your weigh in?? is it a tourny?

    My two brothers and my dad all wrestled. I was more of a basketball guy, but thats because I'm the tallest in the family at 6'3". I know they would cut weight by eating ice cubes. It gave your body the "chewing" and "eating" sensation and also hydrated your body without adding any weight.

    The garbage bag tricks works pretty well too. It traps heat against your body forcing you to sweat more.

    There is no way to cut anyone slack during a match. If you weigh in overweight you automatically forfeit the match. Your coach has nothing to do with it.

    This is DANGEROUS.
    I have seen people put garbage bags on under there current layer of clothes and tape them off, then do what shackman mentioned.

    Personally my opinion is it's not worth making a weight that severly weakens you to hit it.

    also it's probably better to eat a small 100 calorie meals a few times a day then nothing at all, the days before.

    i was a weightlifter in HS...I'd cut weight but spitting every bit of saliva I accumulated....ud be surprised how much that is....its gross but it works....have bottles handy to spit in throughout the whole day..
