I have had an anemone that i bought off someone in my tank for about 3 months..it just recently turned from a pinkish color to BRIGHT GREEN...My water quality is great, and all my levels are stable...is it getting healthier cuz its in a good quality water tank or is it dying? :-/

It is just fine...what kind of an anemone is it?
What kind of lighting do you have?

the girl i bought it from said it was a green bubble...which is why i thought that it might be getting healthy being that "green" and not "pink" is in the actual name..lol

I am running 2 50/50 and i just put a power compact that i was given (even though its not the right size) about a week ago...figured maybe the anemone wasnt getting the light it needed before.. I plan on buying the correct size power compact, but they are so expensive i have to save up. (i have a 125g w/ about 200+lbs of live rock, 3" live sand) That has put a hurtin on the ol' wallet..lol

So you have a too small power compact over a 125g tank? The nem sounds to be doing okay though... but that is not much lighting.

well its made for a 55g...but I have what is mostly a FOWLR..the light was free so I cant really complain..I am saving for a much bigger better light system, and may try some easy corals..I have red mushrooms on one of my live rocks that is growing and reproducing like crazy..any suggestions on easy nice looking corals?

i am a bit late with the reply but it is a good thing your lighting is probably better than the tank it was in and the bright green is the good bacteria that grows on anemones to help feeding etc.

I have two anemones and have never heard of any green bacteria that grows on them to aid in any feeding.....If you still do not have T-5 or higher you need to get it because PC lights are very insufficiet for any type of anemone unless it is a very shallow tank...they need strong lighting and very good water to survive in...if these requirement's are not met it will die...

Is it a green bubble coral or a green anemone?
    Do you have a picture?
