Any idea what this is?

    Hi - i've noticed a load of these weird things growing on my rockwork. It looks like small areas os yellow sponge with some sort of small spike/tube growing out of it. (Sorry about the pic quality - i couldn't zoom in very well)

    Anyone able to tell me what it is and whether it's a problem?

    If it's a problem, how do I tackle it?

    I'm pretty sure it's a sponge. I'm not sure what the small thing is growing out of it but they are harmless to my knowledge.
