Green algae is on my glass and rocks (not green hair algae) quickest way to get it out.. It's a fish only tank I just got and r/o.. The tank is a year old but I recently had to clean it really well. Could it be that the tank is just cycling again. Regardless I would like an organic way to make it go away very fast I don't want to have to put too many chemicals unless there is a really good chemical out there... are there any fish or tricks that can help me

If its a FO tank, and you're taking care of the basics, just turn the lights off for a week or so.

You try running some GAC. Lights out would be a good method as well. Just black out your tank for 3 -4 days and you should be good to go.

Your fish will be fine. The light on a FO is mostly so you can see them.

What they mean is very simple, fish don't need light to survive. So, the light on a fish only tank is so that you can see them! :)

Yeah I never have my cichlid tank lights on except maybe 1 hour a day for feeding and enjoying them, havent ever lost one. your fish get enough light to see from surrounding lights and windows

    (EDIT)
This tank has been running like this for 3 years so, its not 100% necessary
