It doesn't look like aiptasia or majano. It looks like it's actually forming it's own exoskeleton. The central ring has a light orange ring in it that's hard to make out in the pictures.

Looks like a zoa/paly, is it soft or hard to the touch?

What model of potato did you use to take that picture?

It's my Russett 5s. Don't blame the equipment, blame the nincompoop operating it.

I'm starting to think its a nudibranch of some sort. It's moving slowly.

Let's try this. It was hanging out in a bad spot in the tank and my iPhone wasn't up to adjusting color right there.

It's on a cerith snails back and the shell and it share similar colors, but if you look carefully, you can see it is the slightly redder fleshy critter. I'm not sure it's moving, but it did adjust a bit.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Might give John @ Reefcleaners a pm and see if he knows. Pagojoe might know too. It looks like anemone but I have a feeling it might be something else.

it's very cool looking - could it be a type of slug with anemone thingy being antennae? - I'm sure I messed up that guess by a mile...but the spikes on the body remind me of a slug (there's another word for it, but I can not think of it)

That looks interesting! Would love to see what this is. As oldfishkeeper said, it looks a little like a nudibranch on that picture :) I dont know though!

John at Reefcleaners reports it's a tricolor anemone. Non-invasive and quite cool.

    Thanks all!

Nice score, especially if it colors up nicely under your reef lights.
