I bought a used tank that came with a air pump, but when i hooked it up, it was so noisy. When i walked away and was listening, i thought i had left my garbage disposal running or something, it sounds load and terrible. Its so loud that when i went into my bedroom and shut the door, i felt bad for my neighbors, because i could hear it through the walls of my apartment. Anyways, does anyone have any recommendations on a good quiet air pump for a 70 gallon tank?

You don't absolutely need an air pump. If your oxygen is low you may just want to get an MJ1200 or any other pump that comes with an air line tube that can introduce oxygen when needed. I personally do not run any air pumps and I would guess that is normal across the board with most hobbyists.
