Im having some database issues. I contacted the host server and they said there was a problem on their end and they are working on it, but Im pretty sure there is one on my end, even so, I want it speeded up. I read where you can do it, but when I went to school for web design, php didnt exist, hahaha. Ive never had a need for it until recently, so Ive been learning as I go. Ive learned a lot, but its all pretty basic stuff.

So yeah, I need a PHP code junky to help me out here.

    Thanks in advance!

I work with PHP for work and it's my sever side scripting language of choice right now. I'm not sure I got what issues you are having from your message though. Database performance issues?

edit - un edit (You already replied :p)

Yeah, my site is taking 1.5 mins to load and longer at times. I knew it wasnt totally on my end, so I called the hosting company and finally got it out of them that they had a problem after they went through every little thing on my site and said all the code thus far is good.

Ah, so even after they fix whatever problem they are having, you want to make sure your code is up to snuff as far as speed goes...

Here are some additional questions I had edited in my last post -

    What version of PHP?
What database are you using ? For some reason I automatically assumed mySQL.
If mySQL, are you using mysql or mysqli?

    And also

    1.5 mins to load ?

What kind of operation are you doing? Is it a simple select? Or nested query?

If nested, is it in the SQL query or the PHP code that you are looping through results?

hehe, no problem. I'm baffled by the long response time. How big is your database, and what takes 1.5 minutes to load?
