Any Sunsun External Filter w/ UV users?

Well, I was doing my research before buying a UV sterilizer. There is a site I won't mention here that has a massively in depth report of UV sterilizers in the aquarium trade and so according to their research and their advice I was going to get one of the UV sterilizers they recommended: Sunsun CUV-109A - 9w UV sterilizer.

Then I came across an external filter that housed said UV sterilizer that was recommended, which includes the pump needed to run it.

Anyone have any experience with these filters?

This will be going on a 75g tank.

I will say that a 9w UVS with 525gph flow would need to be a fairly large unit; otherwise, you're not going to kill much of anything. You might blind it, but you won't kill it. Exposure time is critical to one's success.

 

If that is the flow rate, then I agree 100%. I use a Turbo Twist 12X (36W) with a 295 GPH pump (so probably 250 with head pressure) and even this is borderline enough to actually kill Ich.
