    hey everyone im thinking about seting up a 150 gallon reef tank fish and soft coral only. I got a friend that is selling me ETSS 800 protein skimmer for $150 buck. Please let me know if this will work or is a over kill for 150 gallon tank.​

    Only if you plan on having a heavy bio load. That skimmer is rated from about 150 - 400 gallon tanks. But for the price I would get it.

    Dang where did you find one for 150$? That would have to be a very heavy stocking of a 150gal

    My friend bought one of these on ebay for 150 there like brand new. Some older gentleman was getting out of the hobby and wanted to get rid of them so insteed of sending him one he sent him both just to get em off his hands

    $ 700.00 skimmer for $ 150.00

    That is a good price, give's you room to grow although 150 gallon is a nice size tank. Good luck!!!
