I have used my small generator I got from home depot a few times. Its a Husky 1850, it runs my 2 box fans, a few things on the tank(1 powerhead, air pump, and canopy fan to keep it cool), and my deep freeze. During the night I can run a few compact florescent lights to keep the sanity during the night. I bought it to do remote ranch work but it turned into such a valuable asset I would buy another tomorrow if this one died. Not to mention its not that loud which is a definite plus.

    Very good idea.

O2 loss is your biggest issue although an increase in temperature will do some nasty stuff. An increase in temp will speed up the metabolic rate. This leads to more chemical warefare in your system. I would suggest trying to keep the tank as cold as possible.
