Am thinking of going away for about 2 weeks...

Any tips on what I should do before I leave ? (besides doing a major water change).

I already have an automatic feeder for my fish, but I guess I am wondering about my corals, clam, etc... Should I double the dose of DT Plankton, Reef Complete, etc... before I leave for 2 weeks ? or not ?? I don't really have anyone to watch over the tank during my absense...

What do you ppl do... any ideas are welcome...

    Thanks a lot...

I really wound consider finding a friend or even a service to come by and do proper top up and feeding. You can find some pet sitters will actually feed aquariums.

Giving them a dose of the happy stuff before you leave would probably be a good move, but not necessary IMO.

I'm with J though, get someone to check in. You could rig a 10 gallon tank of evap water on a float, but I'd still have someone make sure things don't go south by checking in once or twice.

Go to a reputable LFS and see if they have a bonded pet sitter with reef aquarium experience.  Ot will be well worth the peace of mind and not having to spend $$$$$$$$ to replace lost corals/fish.  They will come by and feed daily if required as well as make sure everything is running and your tank doesn't crash from something as simple as a temporary power outage.

I've had two great experiences with a great service here in Reno. Made up a schedule a they followed it to a "T". Even called me on my cell phone with a question. The bomb!

Great links Turbo. However, there is nothing like the peace of mind that comes from knowing someone is checking on your tank every day.

My neighbors kids come everyday when I'm out of town. They check the temperature, they check the water levels, I make a daily packet of food and they feed a packet each day, there are water levels marked on my sump with electrical tape. If the water is getting low, they have premade water and will add it. They go through a checklist I designed everyday and if something is wrong, they not only have the phone number where I'm staying, they also have the phone numbers of several friends in my local reef club.
