Im thinking about doing some new aquascaping and am going to be drilling my live rock and pegging them together to achieve some really interesting shapes, Im thinking that wood expands in water and would eliminate any need to use epoxys. Would there be any detrimental effects from having wood in the tank? Thanks guys!

The wood will rot and add to your nitrogen cycle. Then all of your hard word will be a square one with no support or hold. Don't know how long it will take until they rot away.

Acrylic rod is what most people use to go this route.

Good info Im betting that if I make the holes the perfect size they will be snug enough even with a plastic of acryllic rod. Sure wouldnt want to make my nitrates go up with a wooden one. Thanks all...
