I was at the LFS today and was talking with the owner. A customer came in and said he has been having problems with aiptasia. I chimed in stating that I have been having some problems too. Of course we heard the standard treatment....aptasia control, Joes Juice, berghai, peppermint shrimp, copperbands etc.

Then the owner said he was going to get in some type of filefish that eats aptasia. I have no clue what kind that would be? He said there was some article he read stating that this type actually ate them more then copperbands and was cheaper and easier to care for. He even made a joke that he would "rent" the fish out to customers to eat the aptasia as he was having a lot of people all the sudden complain about it (I have not added rock in a long time....however I did add some chaeto from my moms tank and I think that is how I introduced it)

I dont know of a filefish that is reef safe? Anybody know what he is talking about! I am going to continue using kalk for now! (though got to be careful..just killed a clam on accident when some fell on its mantle!) Goldie my golden puffer was happy though as she got a tasty clam that was almost dead
