Interesting Luna. Do you have any problems with your skimmer going out of calibration from going on and off?

From what I understand, you might want to run it at night instead to keep your pH up. But if it works... what the heck.

Well, I just started this a week ago and as of now, I havent seen any negative side effects. As far as my ph, am not to worried about it b/c I also have a super air pump placed outside with 4 air lines and 4 air stones placed with-in my system. I also have a window semi opened so some fresh air gets sucked in by the a/c unit. As of now my ph stays at 8.0 all through the night. I also decided to give this a try b/c most of the time the skimmer's bubble chamber's skimate is white. The only time that I see some brown skimate coming up to the collection cup is when I dose some Marinesnow or Selcon or after I feed. I decided to run the skimmer only during the day b/c thats when the fish are more active( eat & poop ). I'll let you know how this turns out.

I'm going to start running mine during the day and feed the corals at night so the skimmer doesn't remove the food. I'm running a skimmer rated at 125 on my 25 gallon tank.

    Oversized Protein Skimmer Recommendation.

    Oversized Protein Skimmer Recommendation

I personally utilize a Tunze DOC 9010 Protein Skimmer on a 20 gallon Aquarium that I am in the process of creating. The Tunze DOC 9010 Protein Skimmer is rated for aquariums up to 264 gallons of total water volume. However, it's relatively small dimensions of 4.9 Inches in Length x 4.4 Inches in Depth x 16.9 Inches in Height and low power consumption of only 21 watts of electricity made it an ideal choice for my setup. It is even equipped to allow ozone to be equipped. I never thought it was possible to overskim but apparently the foam production stopped on mine and start back up during feeding time or after I place my hands in the aquarium or even after my fish take poops. My water is so clear that you could mistake it for a freshwater aquarium. But my recommendation would be go for it!
