    I found this guy in my mailbox this morning, lucky I looked in first before sticking my hand in. I'm in Brunei in Borneo, any ideas what it is?

    looks to me like a garter snake.. but those are the only ones i see often NJ.. over where you are i have no idea lol

    He was a stunning looker, my photos don't do it justice, had a bright red tongue. It was about 1.5ft. I have no idea, but with kids in the house I was curious to find out if it was harmless or not

    Was the whole snake that color or was did it change partially down?

    I didn't noticed to be honest, I was looking at the head most of the time, I didn't register the rest of his body colour

    Ok well if you see him again check to see if he has some blue in him, if so, stay away if not looks to be a harmless rat snake

    I found a shot which covers most of him. Not sure how clear it will be once compressed. But it looks like the colour is consistent the full body length

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    I believe that is a vine snake.
