Get them to feed the fish (Tomi) before you buy it, and really give it the eye (looking for meet on the bones). I see a lot of starving Tominensis tangs, so beware.

Here in corn country I'll never see one in person so if I want one I would have to just mailorder. Are they any worst shipper than any other tang.

If it's healthy, shipping won't be a problem. They're pretty hardy fish, when not starved. Grazers like them need to eat quite often, and the entire COC (Chain Of Custody - from reef to retailer) will leave it w/o food for up to 2 weeks some times.

Try a Scopas, Sailfin or Purple Tang if the Yellow is not your thing. They are very docile and eat algae as well, as an added bonus! Just be careful if you plan on adding more than one to your tank.
For removing microalgae, try one of the many blennies!Ie. red-lipped or lawnmower. They are awesome at removing algae.(just an alternative)

Which yellow, Yellow tang (Zebrasoma flavescens) or yellow fin aka Tomi (Ctenochaetus tominiensis)? You mentioned all other zebrasomas, so I'm inclined to think that. We're talking about the Yellow fin (Ctenochaetus tominiensis). The yellow tang usually isn't starved due to how close and quick it gets shipped from to the mainland.
