I was curious if anyone has tried those magic erasers from mr. clean on their glass tank? I recently picked up a used 135 and tried cleaning the water spots off of it with vinegar and they wont come off. I saw those magic erasers in the store and was wondeering if anyone has tried them and with what results. Some have a chemical on them so I know not to use those, but some are chemical free. As soon as I can get the tank clean to my liking I am going to start setting it up. In the meantime I will just try and use a razorblade and vinegar to get the spots off.

I couldnt see them hurting, just rinse, rinse and rinse some more. Maybe make bleach the last cleaning agent after the last chemical was rinsed out of course to make sure everything else is gone. maybe soak it with the vinegar for a while...

I use them. They are awesome. They remove stuff that nothing else will. Be very careful on sensitive surfaces like something glossy or easily scratched - they look like a piece of foam, but these are pretty hardcore, and will ruin a glossy or sensitive surface. Anything else though, it will clean like none other.

I use them on my acrylic tank.Just have to keep it away from the sand so it doesnt pick any up and make scratches.I fillet them and put them under my mag float cleaner. works great.

Really not so much as water spots, more like the hard water residue from when the tank was set up before. It used to be a freshwater tank. I just want it nice and clean before I refill it.
