I was runnning a BakPak on my 29 but upgraded to Remora C for my 75. Sometimes the CRP worked good and other times not at all. The Remora came with good recomendations from another site. Just setting it up now so can't give you first hand experience.

I have a Bak Pak 2, it works great if you up grade to a Maxi-Jet 1200. THe Rio was to much work. I like it becausee the extra chamber (removed bio balls) and use this to put my supplements in. THis way they mix before entering the main tank. I am going to replace mine with a Remora C Sump w/ Maxi-Jet for my Bak Pak is to big for my sump.

The CPR is OK. The Remora is actually a better skimmer. The CPR requires more maintanence and up keep. The CPR does not produce as fine of a bubble as the Remora does. While they both skim good the Remora will outskim the Bak pak. The Remora also requires almost no maintenece.

My Bak Pak II has been reduced to a circulation pump and a heater storage place due to its lack of performance. As Darin said too much maitenance for sure.

Well, based on all my research (and input from 3reef), I ordered the Remora C with the MJ1200. Hope to get it soon and try it out. [smiley=drool.gif]

I just ordered the same thing today, bak pak 2 going in the storage bin. I retract my earlier review.

Well folks, I just got my Remora C with the MJ1200 - hung it on my tank 2 days ago and I'ts starting to produce some nice brown/green foam already!
Not bad since the vendor Aqua C said the break-in period is 1 - 2 weeks before getting results. Thanks again for all the input from 3 reef folks!

Glad you like it, can you post a picture?

Did you get it from Darin at CaptiveReefs?

Recieved mine yesterday from Captivereefs, plus also got the Surface Skimmer. It is still just pulling bubble w/ a tint of green. This is do to the Red SLime Algae remover. S Skimmer is nice but a little bigger then i was thinking, but it hides the Maxi Jet, cleaner look. also recieved in 2 days after order!
