I was able to mount 2 monti Cap frags on my overflow. They are doing quite well

We had GSP growing on ours. Never had a problem with clogged overflows.

I've got anthelia growing on mine too. It's on my skimmer overflow actually. This stuff grows fast, but not that fast. Only compared to slow growers. I can remove this box fairly easy to trim back the anthelia far enough so that i only have to mess with it every several months (is my plan). So far it's working great. My only concern (and it's barely a concern) is the weight of the coral on the box.

I plan on adding zoa's to my other return pipes, etc.

I'm going to try it with my GSP. I think it's an awesome idea!

For some reason my GSP decides to grow underneath the rock instead of spreading to my overflow:angry:

Many guys I know will cover the overflows and even the back of the back with monti caps, looks neat, or they will use encrusting montis and that really disguises the weirs. Softies like xenia, GSP, and zoos work just as well!

    Happy reefing!

Another excellent idea! What did you use, epoxy putty?

I think it would be cool for some cup corals to grow on the overflow box but if i'm talking about the right coral:confused::confused: it could be kinda tricky with it's overshade on other corals
