anyone eles run this T5 bulb setup

    Put in 2 UVL actinic white a true 10 K frosty white light and then 2 UVL super actinic 420nm, makes a perfect combination for coral growth and algae does not like them.. The K means nothing rally it is so different from bulb brand to bulb brand.

    i dont really like how the 420 is soo purple, the 460 is soo much more blue i like it better its more chill. is the 460nm bulb ok for my tank?

    That's exactly what I'm using. Very happily. In time I will increase to six bulbs, and maybe eventually eight, but for now, four bulbs are getting it done just fine. Zoas, palys and zenia are all I have as far as corals go, but they love it.

    Personally, I wouldn't describe the UVL 420nm as purple at all. I can't imagine a bluer blue than what I'm seeing.

    So you have an 8 bulb fixture but only use 4 bulbs?

    Yeah, for now. My tank's still very new, and there's nothing in it yet that requires more.
