I too believe we are to blame with our mass consumption, but at the same time we are not really given REAL alternatives. Yes, there are hybrid vehicles out there, but they do not fit everyone's lifestyle. Especially if you have a family. The truth is there are alternatives, and we have the technology to change everything. but the the handful of elite that control the corporations are not willing to let go of what makes the world go around. And those who have the technology at their disposal, are also controlled by corporations that are not willing to invest initially to make some REAL changes. They want to extend this madness out til there is nothing left. Our planet does not have infinite resources. We are all in for a rude awakening as the population grows and we deplete enough resources that we are FORCED to do something and it won't be a smooth transition....trust me.

ahhh....i thought that would make me feel better, but it doesnt...

Well if it makes you feel any better I live in Canada. And our prices are 1.37 a liter. That's almost 6 bucks a gallon.

If you all want to make a difference you can bring down the prices.

If you can everyone you know to start buying gas from the smaller companies and not the big conglomerates. They will be forced to bring price down. If you could convince everyone in your country to do it for a week the gas companies would lose billions in a week ad be forced to bring down oil prices. Since oil prices are going down and gas prices are going up it's either taxes going to your govv't or profits for these companies. So if u pick small time gas stations you can lower profits for the bigger guys who will then just have no option but to lower prices.
