I was thinking of all those reefers out west given the record temps they are getting! Try to stay cool all and thank goodness there are chillers in this hobby!

My first tank was a 72 gallon with halides and heat was never an issue. This 180 has been heating up quick with LED's. Not quite sure i understand what's happening there. :( I'm working on a heat solution right now until a more permanent fix is in place.

Got up to 110 at my house this weekend. Tank temp held steady at 79-80 with the fan. No chiller running 400w halides.

110 Krikee! I'd be sweating like a champ and smelling like bacon!

My area was hit with a microburst this afternoon and we lost power for about 3 hours. Luckily no one was hurt but a few cars got crushed like cans.
Tank only went up 1 degree...

119 on Saturday wasn't much fun. The A/C doesn't shut off, but it does at least maintain 77 degrees. Tank has stayed under 82 thus far.

110 is hot. At 120 you feel like your skin is burning. The difference is incredible, and I tend to forget that a bit every year.

We have been cool at 103 the last 3 days. I was in Vegas when they hit 117 so I have an idea what Hunter is talking about. I was out in it all day when we hit 108 and that was no fun. Today and tomorrow are supposed to be the hottest for the more westerly areas and the thermometer is confirming the prediction. Hope it breaks on schedule.

Likely pumps are giving off the heat. What do you have for pumps?

My 180 has been staying at 79 degrees. I have two 250 watt halides over it and my chiller hasn't had to run. However I realized after getting my first $350 power bill that my central a/c thermostat was too close to the halide fixture and my air has been running like crazy the last few weeks. So yesterday I relocated the thermostat!
