ok Ive been thinking for a while about building a small frag tank, so I need your idea(s) for dimentions and how to start/build. I want it to be small but be able to view it nicely. nothing bigger than 25gallons. thanks,

i plan on doing this 1 day, from what ive figured id have a shallow tank about 10 inch deep max width and length would be up to the individual though my idea with the depth would mean id require less lighting making the whole thing cheaper to run, and id prolly have some closed loops in the system with valves so i could adjust the flow down for those freshly hacked frags and id probably just have a hang on back skimmer

idealy a frag tank is just another marine tank u just want to have it set up for differnt circumstances water flow etc < but thats all just my opinion>

I converted my sump to a frag tank. I now have 36 by 24 inches of rack space. this may not work for you but I do recommend looping it into your dt. This makes it easier to transfer coral between tanks and it also one less tank to monitor params for.

I agree that it should be shallow or have a rack that holds frags high in the water.
