Thank for the links, much appreciated. I've read a ton on making bonsai with every type of tree EXCEPT mangrove LOL. Guess I'll just have to apply those techniques and see what happens. I've got 17 or 18 that are growing the second set of leafs to experiment on lol.

You will of course be expected to provide full pictoral documentation of your step by step experiment so your results can be duplicated and verified :p

i'm just interested because mine are getting tall enough to make me consider raising my light higher, but i'd rather not have to if I can find a way to keep them stunted hight wise.

How interesting. I am also planning on attempting a mangrove bonsai.

After killing my cascading style juniper I have an empty pot to fill. At first I was planning on a filling it with a silver buttonwood. Well its impossible to find rough stock and the styled trees are going for $150 plus.

Since bonsai is my third hobby I don't want to pay more than $15 for a tree. I decided I would try a mangrove since it seems they would be extremely easy to keep and I can get them for free.

There are four things you have to do to become a successful bonsaiist. "You have to water a lot, feed a lot, prune a lot, and kill a lot." ;D It's in one of my bonsai books.
