I have some that are 12-15", some 6-10". The 15 or so with leafs (leaves?) have 2 for the most part but the growth tip is forming the next pair. There are maybe 6 with 4 leaves (leafs?) and a tip forming the next set.

the name of the guy is bonsai boy..I haven't even began reading yet so I'm assuming bonsai's articles are in that forum.

i remember this site having more, it has been awhile:

    All About Bonsai
    but that is still good

the other forum is like a bonsai version of 3reef, except the site isnt as easy to navigate.

If you ignore the soil stuff, and just substitute a reef suitable substrate there is tons of good info...new trees from cuttings, potting, (people use ceramic pots in reefs, they can look okay if you build up sand/mud etc...)

Let me see if I can find the links on wiring, and shaping...it has been awhile since I read up on bonsai. I have one tree that I did, in 20 years or so it should look pretty sweet....

here is a really basic wiring demonstration:

    http://www.bonsai4me.com/Basics/Basics_Wiring.htm

    they get really complex....

and here is something I bumped into on google, it is not mine, just though you might like the link:

Sweet! Thanx John. Must admit that just a few minutes on the link you mailed and I got information intimidation..lol but that happens with everything new for me.

    Since you're here and reading...

I took all of the pods you sent and put most in the sand and floated 10. They all have good root growth but the 10 still don't have a growth tip whereas the seeds in the sand have leaves. I wondered why and maybe you know??

hmmm....maybe the trees are able to get more nutrients from your sandbed, or are getting more magnesium and that is helping to move nutrients and water to the upper portions. They grow better rooted than floated, but they are easier to maintain without disturbing a sandbed if floated, that is why we recommend that method.
