ive got the 4x24" fixture for almost 2 yrs. Not a problem with it. My moonlights went out but idc i dont use those any way,

Replace the bulbs with ATI bulbs and its a decent fixture for the $.

Some say they catch on fire or something crazy, i think that was back in the day and these problems have been addressed. Check out my tank it was on my 20 gallon and now on the right half of the 75

whqat size tank you plan on putting this over? and what do u wanna keep? 2 bulbs may not cut it..

I have the 4 bulb t5 with the timer built in. This is my 4th odyessea light. No problems so far. The moonlights work fine for about 4 months, then one by one they stop working. You can use the bulbs that come with it for about 6 months before you need to put some good ones in it.
