I was curious about this. These things make plumbing a snap (no pun intended). Has anyone used them in a reef?

Unless you are talking about something else, the Shark Bite fittings are made of bronze; a big no-no for SW tanks! I have used them on copper piping though, for my water heater :)

They make similiar style fittings made out of pvc. I used them on my ro unit and on my reactor. Push the line in until it clicks and your good to go.

Good deal. I haven't seen these for PVC yet; good to know they exist! I wouldn't be afraid to use them :)

Those are mur lok. I love sharkbites, always a pita to solder when water wont stop dripping, plus I use pex anyways. Mur lok is good for nano tanks.

So much easier than using PVC Cement. Plus disconnects would be quick and easy. We've got a pump tucked under our zero edge and in order to replace it, we need to cut all the pipes. These connectors would really save a lot of trouble.
    Thanks again everyone.

Now the only ones ive used or seen use the flexible smaller diameter hose. Like on a ro unit. Ive never seen any the work with regular pvc. So on a return pump you would probably still need to use good ol pvc.
