yes im making it a reef tank

its a 60gal hex

Already have 2x65w Coralife Pc fixture w/ to blue leds

Would 200 watts (with 70w viper and 2x65w pcs) be enough for corals?

Would 195 watts (if i got just a 1x65 watt to add to the 2x65 i already have) be enough for corals?

if i got another 2x65w pc fixture to add to the one i already have, would 260 watts be to much?

 

I would skip the Viper... Bad reviews... at least with the Gen 1.. Also 70w MH lamps are really all that efficient/effective..
On a 60 hex I would opt with at least a 150 preferably a 175...
Heck if you can go with a 250 and just use a 14,000k or 20,000k and skip the energy hog PC lamps...

 

That CH-150, is that a 150w bulb?

I don't think it said anywhere what the wattage is, besides the name of the product ending with 150.

I hate to assume.


But, doc frag is right, a 150w halide would be perfect, and skip the PC's. Those are pretty much useless.

 

I used to agree with doc and H about the pcs......Untill i seen this tank which is lit by ONLY pcs......i would not say they are useless in the least, yes not for larger tanks but wow this nano is sick...

Mind you, this tank is lit by only 3x40 watt pc bulbs
