anyone feed their fish vegetables

I made some fish food today

I used frozen shrimp that I thawed and washed really good

and some salad mix that I also washed really good

is this fine

I already fed some to my fish unfrozen and they ate it but it was kinda hard for them to eat the vegetables so I cut it up more and froze it.

 

i clip some spinache to the inside of my tank, tangs love it

 

my fish arent gonna die from salad mix are they?

 

i doubt it, i sometimes give mine cabbage, lettuice etc, should be fine

 

It's safe to do, but best practice if wanting to feed fish veggies is to boil the veggies to really soften them up that way they the fish wont have trouble digesting.

 

If anyone feed's rod's reef, there are carrots in his food.

I am not a big fan of the carrots, but my tangs don't seem to mind it. Now if I saw carrots laying in the bottom of my tank after feeding the I wouldn't be so happy.

I have since switched to Limpit's reef food and like that even better than rod's.

 

i feed rods food and i think it has carrots and broccoli in it. Great stuff!!! it is the herbivore blend!!

 

Cool. So I can just get some lettuce or carrots out of the fridge, chop them up good, & put them in a veggie clip?
